Erasmus+ Project CoachCraft – Sports Coach Development Project
Small-Scale Partnership – Erasmus+ Sport
- Coordinator: Sports Club FITT Črnuče – ŠD FITT (SLO)
- Partner: Darko Athletics Team – DAT (BGR)
About the project:
CoachCraft is an international Erasmus+ project aimed at developing young sports coaches, with a focus on two disciplines, volleyball and athletics. The project is implemented in Slovenia and Bulgaria, where both participating organizations have many years of experience working with young athletes and coaches.
The goal of the project is to establish an online platform that will be freely accessible to anyone interested in the coaching pathway in sport. The platform will feature high-quality educational content on topics such as motivation, psychology, communication, leadership, ethics, and sustainability. Special emphasis will also be placed on content specific to volleyball and athletics. An important part of the project is the development of a mentoring program, where young coaches will gain practical experience and support from experienced mentors within the participating sports clubs. At the same time, a code of conduct for young coaches will be established, promoting fairness, respect, inclusion, responsibility, and environmental awareness in sport.
The project directly addresses challenges related to youth employment in sport and encourages the active involvement of young people in coaching roles. In doing so, it contributes to greater social inclusion, the development of dual careers, and higher quality of coaching in the EU. By developing a joint online platform, organizing events, and establishing a long-term international network of sports organizations, the project will enable the dissemination of good practices and strengthen connections within the European sports community.
Key components of the project:
- Digital platform with educational content for coaches
- Mentoring programs within participating sports organizations
- Code of conduct for young coaches
- Competence development for working with young athletes
- Networking of sports organizations and sharing of good practices
The project addresses the needs of young people who wish to pursue a career in sports coaching and strengthens the role of sport as a tool for social cohesion, health, and education
